I am pleased with my first Luxe Box of 2012. The extra big box came with an assortment of products (including three full-size products).
* MyScent - This month's Luxe Box came with a little pouch of different scents. It's a new program that Loose Button is piloting called MyScent. I most excited for the Prada Candy sample -- I'm definitely purchasing the full-size of that. The following fragrances were included:
* Prada Candy
* Prada Infusion D'Iris
* Nina Ricci L'Air du Temps
* Nina Ricci Nina
* Paco Rabanne Black XS
* Paco Rabanne Lady Million
* Yves Rocher Lipstick - I have never tried this brand before so I was interested to try it. It is a lovely colour and it applies beautifully. This was a full-size product and it retails for $5.
* Chi Silk Infusion - I absolutely love this hair treatment. It leaves my hair feeling smooth and de-frizzed.
* Benefit Creaseless Shadow - I reserved this product via Loose Button's "First In Line" program. It was one of two full-size Benefit products (the other being the Powda Wowza), a Donna Karan body lotion, and a Curly Hair Solution. I was originally going to get the Powda Wowza but I already have the full-size versions of the blushes so I got the shadow instead. It's a lovely colour -- a shimmery gold called Fahrenheit Fab. It's creamy and it applies very smoothly. This product retails for $19.
* Seattle's Best Coffee - I love coffee so I was excited to see this. I haven't tried it yet but I can't wait to.

Also included with this month's Luxe box was a special Bath & Body Box.
* Fredrick Fekkai Shampoo & Conditioner - I'm a huge fan of Fekkai products, especially their dry shampoo and styling products. I am impartial on their shampoo/conditioners, though. They work well but less expensive drugstore brands work just as well with my hair type.
* Schick Hydro Silk Razor - Another full-size product. I wasn't too excited about this product, mostly because I don't need to shave my legs, so I have no use for it… but I'm sure if I did, I would appreciate it more. This has a retail value of $14.
Overall I was happy with this month's box! January was supposed to be my last month but now, I'm debating whether or not to re-subscribe.
All of these subscription services are definitely a hit or miss. Some month's are great and some aren't. I've been lucky because I haven't received a box that I absolutely regretted. I know that there's a few people who were quite dissatisfied with their box this month.
What did you think of your Luxe Box this month?
Great post! To me this was the BEST luxe box I've gotten since I subscribed (Sept). The difference between our boxes was I chose the benefit box powder which was my fave product since I don't own any of the box powders any more! I have only ever owned hoola. December was my WORST box. At least loose button started the year right. One thing I wish is that they stop with the fragrance samples, its getting overwhelming... and more makeup or hair products. The skincare products are also getting overwhelming. Just my opinion! :)
ReplyDelete@missB I agree! While I like the fragrance samples in this box -- mainly because of the Prada Candy -- I would appreciate them again in a future box. I'm glad you were able to get the Powda Wowza! They are a lovely assortment of blushes!
ReplyDeleteCan you tell me how to do the first in line program? I've looked everywhere on the website and I can't seem to find it. Thanks so much. Love your reviews!
ReplyDelete@Alison I don't think it's a function that is on their website. I just receive an email about it. It's not every month though. It's strange that you don't receive it.. if you're subscribed, you should be on their mailing list :).
ReplyDeleteI'm a new subscriber so that's probably why. I'll watch for the email. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI think this was a great assortment of products! February will be my first Luxe Box so I am eagerly awaiting it - hopefully they didn't outdo themselves for the January box and have nothing left for Feb! Also, can you explain the My Scent program a bit? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGreat review!
ReplyDeleteAhh, I wanted one of the Benefit products so bad!! They were seriously gone within 15 minutes of the email being sent, not cool. BUT, still loved my first box, or boxes I should say. Can't wait to find my missing camera and do a review! :)
They sent my box to my friend's house, who I purchased a gift subscription for back in November. So now she has two boxes and I have none - plus its inconvenient and difficult for me to get it from her! I was already getting fed up with the slow and always delayed shipping (I live in Western Canada) but changing my shipping address due to a gift subscription purchase under my account is just not acceptable. I was going to cancel my subscription eventually for my own reasons but I wanted to wait for the 1 yr anniversary box like you... now I'm not so sure!!
ReplyDeleteYou got such great products! They didn't send me the first in line email. :( I did, however, receive the velour upper lashes which are really cool! And I got an Olay cream that I gave to my mom and a really nice NYX lipstick. Also I got the MyScent thing. xD I'm really satisfied with my box but I'm disappointed that they never sent me the email (even though I've been subscribed for months) and that they sent my box a week after everyone else! I started seeing Luxe Box hauls on YouTube so after a few days I emailed Loose Button telling them they forgot my box and the next day I got a shipping email, haha. But other than all that this box is AWESOME. Oh, and I just found your blog and I love it! Your YouTube Luxe Box hauls are my favorites so it'll be awesome to be updated via your blog as well. :)
ReplyDeleteI hate the reservation system on Luxebox so much. The last two months I've clicked on the link within two hours and everything is out of stock! SO annoying, it basically just shows you what you WON'T be getting. My "full size product" this month was the Yves Rocher lipstick and a NYX eyeshadow - product value $5. A nice eyeshadow, but annoying when I know that other people are getting full-size Benefit and high end products! Combined with the late shipping this month, I was pretty irritated by Loosebutton. I'm getting Glymm and signed up for Glossybox... might cancel my luxebox if they keep it up!
ReplyDeleteI missed out on such a great box! February better be the same! :)
ReplyDeleteI was really surprised and happy with my Luxebox this month!! My bath and body box was the same as yours (I think these all were the same) but my black box was quite different. I tried to get either of the Benefit products but they were both gone by the time I got the e-mail. I admit I was a little disappointed by that at first but since I've got a few of the boxed powders now (from Shoppers) it isn't that big a deal. Plus, I was really excited about the other items I received!! I got the 6 fragrances and the coffee too, both of which I'm happy about. I also got the Olay Regenerist, which is cool since I've recently been using this line for my new skincare routine (and this was one of the few products I didn't have that I was debating buying!). I also got a full sized NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in a pretty, sparkly pink colour and a Pur Minerals 4-in-1 foundation (in light - thank goodness, since I am so pale!) which I'm super excited to try. The card says it is full sized, though the amount doesn't match so I'm not sure. (Full sized is $31 for 8g and mine says 4g...) Still, it is a great value considering the whole box was only $10! I was really disappointed with my December box, which was my first one ever, but now I'm looking forward to seeing what Loose Button has in store for the rest of the year!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't as pleased. I got a Yves Rocher lipstick in the last box, so another wasn't a thrill. I also got another sample of Kinerase hair oil, AND another Oil of Olay wrinkle cream. So this is probably the worst box for me, I wonder why there is SO much discrepancy? I missed out on the reserve thing but that's ok.
