I spotted this Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Rose Gold at Sephora a few weekends ago with Elise (Ã la BlushistheNewBlack) and we instantly fell in love with it. Of course, being the VIB weekend, it had to be sold out. I mean, who wouldn't want to pick up this rose gold beauty?
Not easily deterred, I stalked the counter & finally got my hands on it. Success! I won't lie, I was pretty chuffed. It happened to be the very last one tucked inside Sephora's not-so-secret drawers. Had it not been for my acute eye for shiny things, I would have missed out completely. That would have been a serious shame because this highlighter is gorgeous!
Have you ever tried Becca's Shimmering Skin Perfectors before? No? I suggest you get yourself to a counter ASAP!
They come in two forms: liquid or pressed powder. This limited edition Rose Gold shade only comes in pressed. The packaging is unapologetically simple with it's rubberized matte brown base and metal shield.
What's inside is the show stopper, though.
A beautiful rose gold powder etched with a stunning geometric pattern. It's almost too pretty to touch... Almost. Once you do talk yourself into disturbing the design, you will fall in love with the creamy pigment and rosy glow it gives.
I think this will suit a lot of skin tones and skin types. The complexity of this shade (there's even a hint of peachiness to it) has trumped a lot of the highlighters in my makeup stash. I just can't get enough of the (non-oily looking) glow this gives my skin.
I'm also impressed with the lasting power. I've never ventured into Pressed SSPs until now but I'm loving how naturally it blends into the skin & how it lasts all day long. The finely milled powder is so pigmented that you could potentially over do it -- keep that in mind when applying it. I've been brushing it on with a soft small powder brush from Hakuhodo (the G5538BkSL, to be exact).
Swatches l-r: concentrated, blended out
Seriously, how sad that this is only a holiday release?!
If you're liking what you're seeing, I'd recommend hitting up a Becca counter (or Sephora's website, here) soon because they're selling like hot cakes.
So, have you tried Becca's Shimmering Skin Perfectors yet? Are you in love, like, or loathe? x

ReplyDeletei wasn't very impressed with the liquid version of this, but i thinks i like the pressed powder version much better. and the rose gold shade is very beautiful on you. :)
Wow, that is BEAUTIFUL. I don't need this at all, but man I am tempted. The glow seems a little more natural than the usual yellow or white toned powders.
ReplyDeleteI've decided not to fall prey to peachy/rose gold highlighters anymore but this one's definitely difficult to resist. :)
ReplyDeleteThat looks absolutely GORGEOUS!
